Teachers booking a visit to DIG should remember to ask about DIG’s lunch space.

These prices are valid for all educational visits taking place from January through to August 2018.

These prices take effect for all educational visits taking place from September 2018, regardless of when they are booked.

Workshops

Workshops £2.00 per child, or £1.50 if booked with two or more attractions.

Barley Hall half-day experiences £2.50 per child, or £2 when booked with two or more attractions.

‘Fit For a King’ £7 per child, £3.80 per teacher (one teacher goes free for every 6 children booked).

One teacher goes free with every six school children booked.

Please note: activities are included in your visit to the Richard III Experience and the Henry VII Experience at no additional cost.

Duration

Visits to JORVIK Viking Centre and Barley Hall last approximately 1 hour.

Visits to DIG last approximately 1 ½ hours.

Visits to the Richard III Experience and the Henry VII Experience last approximately 1 ¼ hours.

 

JORVIK, DIG and Barley Hall workshops last approximately 45 minutes.

Half-day experiences at Barley Hall last approximately 2 ½ hours.

‘Fit For a King’ at Barley Hall normally runs from 10am – 2pm.

Access

Due to the historic nature of the buildings at Barley Hall, the Richard III Experience and the Henry VII Experience, these venues are not fully accessible. The ground floor only at Barley Hall can be accessed by wheelchair users. The Richard III Experience and the Henry VII Experience are inaccessible to wheelchair users, and are reached via steep and narrow staircases.

Additional Facilities:

  • JORVIK: Disabled toilet; lift; puschair store; toilets
  • DIG: Disabled toilet; lift; pushchair store; toilets
  • Barley Hall: Lunch facilities in the great hall for schools booking a full-day visit (please pre-book); for half-day visits, schools can use the DIG lunch room (subject to availability); toilets
