Community Projects

The JORVIK Group runs a wide range of community-focussed projects throughout the year to enable local communities to engage with York’s rich history in new and exciting ways.

Our work aims to make the past accessible and enjoyable for all through inclusive & relevant exhibitions, attractions and events; and to involve the community in the on-going archaeology projects carried out by York Archaeological Trust.

Anyone can get involved: in the past we have worked with disability advocacy groups, mental health service users, local residents, retirees, schoolchildren and a host of others from all backgrounds and abilities.
